We have been organizing several activities every year for the overall development of the underprivileged children from Prerna. We invite children from several other NGOs working with marginased sector in and around Delhi.
One of these activities organized by the Prerna Niketan Sangh is the Annual Residential Camp for children with disability and those with disabilities. Camp activities include Painting, Craft-Work, Music, Stage-Plays & Quiz Competitions. For their Personality Development and Spiritual Enhancement, Religious Discourses, Meditation, Gita Shlokas Recitals etc. are also held. Games like Chess Carom Board & Sports like Three legged Race, Potato Race & Tag-of-War etc. are also held.
Such camps being organized every year, provide a platform for the physically challenged children to interact with their non-disabled counterparts and to showcase their individual talent. The objective of these camps is to motivate and inspire children with disabilities to develop in to a self-dependent individual. The residential camp provides the opportunity to these underprivileged children to explore their capabilities.
PNS have organized camps in the past years based on the theme of Personality Development.
This year a similar residential Camp was organised from 07th May to 14th May 2008 at Basti Vikas Kendra, Dwarka. The camp was full of fun, adventure, new experiences and friendships. At least 121 children from various NGOs including the inmates of Prerna partiticipated in the week long event. Many collaborative activities were planned during this and the children had a real good fun.
