The cause

In our society, there are a lot of physically challenged children, belonging to low income, illiterate & underprivileged section, whose life has no significance to them, their parents & obviously to insensitive society. But these unfortunate children do have capabilities and if given proper support, guidance and training they can grow up to be self independent citizens contributing to the society. However they often do not get this chance because of lack of proper facilities, support and motivation.

Our Objective- Duty towards Society
Prerna Niketan Sangh, a charitable organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, Govt. of NCT Delhi, working for the upliftment of the physically challenged, was founded on 23rd November 1998. We are proud to state that ours is the only organization in Delhi, where physically challenged children of different age groups are given boarding, lodging, education and medical aid free of charge. The main aim of our organization is to help, encourage and instill confidence in these children so that they can be brought to the mainstream of society.

Our Centre-A Home away Home
Started with just five children, hundreds of physically challenged children with orthopedic impairment have got medical treatment/surgery and aids like calipers, crutches, wheel chair & tri cycles with the help from other NGOs. Presently 42 inmates including boys & girls of different age group are getting living facilities at Basti Vikas Kendra-cum-Community Centre, allocated by MCD, located at above mentioned address. These children are getting formal education through Govt. School, Janak Puri and Open School along with vocational training from Delhi Council for Child Welfare (DCCW), Janak Puri.
